Poster Child
Emily Rapp wrote a book. That’s her on the cover. I inserted the image into my post. Emily Rapp is the “Poster Child.” When she was six years old, the March of
Dimes put her image on their posters and calendars. She would proudly proclaim to her audience,
“I might have one leg, but I’m not disabled.”
I love this book. Emily was born
with a congenital defect that required her left leg to be amputated just below
the knee. Her book has been called a
memoir of disability, but that is not the way she describes it. She writes of living life to the
fullest. She is a true inspiration.
